Bday Bash Shaker Birthday Card

Hi everyone, Laurel here again.  I don’t know about you, but the funny thing is… I hardly ever make birthday cards! I go in spurts, but for the most part they are not ones I usually make.

I do like to give birthday cards to the students in my class (I teach grade one), thus I am working on building my stash… the Pattern Happy stamps and papers are so perfect for kids birthday cards!

I am sharing a girl themed card – little girls often like pink, purple and sparkly.  So what little girl would love this card, complete with shaker – which I seem to be on a kick of lately too 😉

I kept it pretty simple really – have you seen how 6 or 7 year olds put things into their backpacks? LOL

I used a mixture of papers from the Geofetti, Rainbows and Color Me papers – love how they are so easy to mix and match.

I die cut the birthday using the Birthday Word die then stapled it on.

I paper pieced the cupcake from the Bday Bash stamp set and mounted it on foam squares.   Finally, I die cut a sentiment from the set using the Mini Containers.

Thanks for visiting…. and oh… if you like the sketch of this card… check out my Sketchy Saturday post… come play along!

Easy Watercolor Cards + Video!

Hi Friends! It’s Carly and I have a easy watercolor technique to share with you today that is perfect for adorable Pattern Happy stamps! And I made a little video too!

Pattern Happy has so many sweet little images just waiting for watercolor like the robots from Best Bots and the party hats from Bday Bash. I used Zig Clean Color Markers but your favorite watercolor medium will work. Embossing the images help keep the watercolor “in the lines” and a circle die can make a great template for the background. Check out the video to see more about the quick & easy process:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs, Carly
