#52Favorites Spread

Good morning everyone!  Kat here this morning and I am so excited to share my first project with you today!

Recently I have been working on a #52favorites album.  Have you heard of the concept?  It’s kind of like a super simplified version of Project Life.  Basically, you pick one photo from each week of the year that you want to highlight.  I’ve been focusing my album on my daughter.  I think this is such  a fun way to document her first year of life!

For my Week 13 spread, I decided to used papers from the Rainbows 6×6 paper pad, the Robots 6×6 paper pad and the Color Me 6×6 paper pad.  I also cut out some cute shapes using the Bloom Builder die and I topped off my spread with the date on a label cut from the Mini Containers die.

Here is how my spread turned out:

I love how the papers coordinate so nicely with the photo!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a happy day!

Using inspiration For a Project

Hey all, it’s Amy here and I’m so excited to be a part of the Pattern Happy Design Team!  Today I’m sharing a card that was inspired by this month’s Pattern Happy Sketch Challenge:

It’s such a fun sketch, isn’t it?  Here’s how I was inspired:

Let’s start with the fun paper!  The black and white panel is from the Geofetti 6×6 Paper Pad and the lime green is from the Rainbows 6×6 Paper Pad.

I inked up the Best Bots Clear Stamp set and colored them with alcohol markers.  Love the coordinating Best Bots Die set!

I love that this is a gender/age neutral card, definite bonus points!

We hope that you join in the fun with the Sketch Challenge!

Thanks so much for stoppin’ by and I hope you have a fabulous week!

Using Stamps To Create A Repeating Pattern

Hi Friends! Its Carly and I am so excited to be on the Pattern Happy blog with my first post! Today I want to share with you 2 easy card designs using stamps to create patterns.

To get started you need stamps (I’m using the Best Bots set), a stamp positioning tool like the MISTI and your favorite inks.

Decide on a horizontal or vertical pattern and measure your stamp accordingly. For example, for the repeating robot pattern I wanted to create horizontal robot “stripes” so I measured the width of my image, about 1-1/4 inches. Then using the MISTI, I stamped one robot then moved my cardstock 1-1/4 inches to the left and stamped again.

Repeat and repeat.

Once I finished the pattern, I added a sentiment and to complete the cards, I stamped and colored cute little bots.

I used the same process to create a vertical pattern with the “I’M NUTS FOR YOU SENTIMENT”.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs! Carly

First of the Month Super Sketch

Hi everyone, Laurel here.  Guess what?  Do you love sketches as much as I do?  Well…. we will be hosting a monthly sketch challenge right here on this blog.  Yep, a new sketch on the first of each month.

We would love for you to play along, now Pattern Happy products don’t have to be used, but we sure would be happy to see them.

Fun hey?

Here is what I created with the sketch.  I used the Rainbows paper pad along with a cut file – did you know we have cut files?! Yep, this one is the Sweet Sun cut file.  I used it to create a shaker box.

For the ‘hello’ sentiment I have used the Mini Greetings stamp set along with the Mini Containers die.

Now we would love to see what your take on the sketch is!

For our part of the hop, Kim Sabel (founder and designer for Pattern Happy) created this fresh take on a wedding congratulations card to share with you.

Kim says: I wanted to use this patterned paper for a card front as I love the clean graphic design feel and I love adding things to it! So I used our Bloom Builder stamp set and heat embossed several of the flowers in a silver glitter  finish over the black and white pattern. I also heat embossed the sentiment from We Are Family stamp onto neon pink cardstock, and then diecut it using the Mini Containers metal die set. I finished the card off with a small string of bakers’ twine. This card doesn’t have to be for a wedding, it would also be a fun graduation card. Enjoy the rest of our projects on the hop!

EXTRA! EXTRA! Announcing our 2018-19 Design Team!

We’re thrilled to announce our wonderful team, and we can’t wait to see what these ladies create with the new Pattern Happy products. Thanks to all who entered!

Congratulations to Amy Tsuruta, Carly Tee Minner, Kat Benjamin, Khristina Sorge, Kristine Davidson, and Laurel Seabrook!

Introducing Pattern Happy!

Hi there! Welcome to Pattern Happy®.

We are a new paper craft brand co-founded by me (Kim Sabel) and my husband, Ryan Sabel.

We are the original co-founders of KI Memories, a popular paper craft manufacturer from 2001-2012. Shortly after the birth of our son, and after having run KI Memories for nearly 12 years, we decided to sell the business and focus on our young family. Now that our son is older, we are jumping back into paper crafting with our NEW BRAND, Pattern Happy®. You can read more about our story here.

We’re just getting started on this new venture – but we are excited to get back into the paper crafting “groove” and introduce our first group of new products! We have 14 sku’s of clear stamps, 14 metal craft dies (most coordinate, some are standalone dies), and 6×6-inch paper pads! While the focus of this first group of products is for card making, our products can most definitely be used for scrapbooks, planners, bullet journals, travelers notebooks, party décor, and more! These new items are currently available for PRE-ORDER, and will be shipping in late March.

We have reached out to boutique shops around the U.S. and worldwide to let them know about our new venture, and have already been met with so much support and positive response! If you would like to see our brand in your local store, please let them know of our launch just in case we may have missed them.

Going forward, we will highlight creative ways to use our products, both here on our blog and on social media. Be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and YouTube to see what we have in store!

Make what makes you happy! TM
